Shop All Wines
Sunday, November 8 | 6–8 PM Coordinates Vineyards | Main Street, Fredericksburg
For one night, we’re opening the bottles we normally don’t.
Join us for an intimate comparative tasting of five South African Pinotages, including library wines, wines tied to the people and places that shaped Coordinates, and one bottle that has not yet been released.
We’ll taste all five side by side:
Pinotage 2021 - Clos Malvern This Western Cape Pinotage (fruit from Stellenbosh and Paarl) has been our best selling wine yet.
Stellenbosch Pinotage 2021 Made from Helderberg fruit, the first Pinotage we sold in Texas, and a library wine we’ve held back specifically for moments like this.
Kanu Reserve Pinotage 2020 An incredible reserve Pinotage from the Polkadraai Hills of Stellenbosch. This is the featured wine for our October release.
Rhebokskloof Reserve Pinotage 2022 Rolanie’s Pinotage from the slopes beneath Paarl Mountain. This wine has not yet been released. It will be poured and available for purchase at this event before disappearing again until its eventual place on the menu.
Reserve Pinotage 2020 Robert’s reserve Pinotage from Paarl, pulled from our library for the evening, and our wine that established "the coordinates."
Rather than a formal plated dinner, we’ll build a large grazing board for the room, with cheeses, charcuterie and special accompaniments selected to enjoy alongside the wines. The evening is meant to be relaxed and conversational, with time to taste, compare, eat and hear the stories about what makes these five expressions of the same grape so different.
This is our first library wine event. These bottles will only be available for purchase at the event. Library wines are sometimes saved to see how they develop. Sometimes there simply isn’t enough of it to keep on the tasting menu. Either way, once these bottles are gone, they are gone.
This is the Pinotage tasting we’ve wanted to do for a long time: five wines, three regions, three vintages, all the same grape, all differernt.
Tickets are limited to 32 guests.
